Air Bag Jackets
Air Bag Jackets.
On the Evening News today it stated that an eminent Doctor at a UK Hospital has called for Air Bag Jackets to be made Compulsory for UK Bikers. It showed a demonstration by a professional stunt man who threw himself off his bike and demonstrated the benefits of the Air Bag jacket, as it deployed immediately on impact. The jacket is linked to the bike with a low resistance link that operates the the inflation device as soon as the rider and the bike part company.
The above picture shows what happened when, in a trial by an American Bike Cop he forgot to unclip himself as he made his way to the roadside burger van. (No sorry that’s not right…..this picture shows the bike cop on his way back from the burger van!!)

This picture is a publicity shot from a product launch. As you can see the rider’s air bag hasn’t gone off yet, but look at her colleagues in the background and you can see that their air bag jackets seem to have deployed nicely!
See you on the ride out Sunday.

To those who joined us on the Ride Out, thank you once again for your generosity with your donations to the NSPCC.
I will ensure that this is passed on, without delay.
Cheers

I bought an airbag jacket jacket from wairbag (http://www.wairbag.com/) at the Excel Bike Show earlier in the year.
I had the misfortune of coming off my bike a couple of weeks ago. I was doing about 60 MPH when a car pulled out on me and i simply had nowhere to go. I managed to avoid the car but came off the bike.
The airbag jacket inflated and absorbed all of the impact and i simply stood up and walked away. Unfortunately my bike was in bits!
I can honestly say I owe my life to my airbag jacket! I would highly recommend them to anyone and would not consider riding without one again.

Thanks for French trip Andy. Good to explore new lands and my speedo explored new heights too !!
What about something closer to home – a trip to Lake, Peak District or Scotland.

Still gutted about the French trip it looks like everyone had a great time.
On the positive I got my cheque from the insurance company and the misses isn’t totally averse to the idea of an early birthday present. Riders here I come…..
Martyns idea about local trips is a great idea.
