Take a Deep Breath… This is a Big One! Ride Outs, Scotland & More.

Here are some dates for your diary.  Ride Outs, Advanced Training, Scottish Splendor, Boats & Trains and a Rider Improvement overnight stay…. just for starters.  More news on a French Trip to come soon.

P & O Grand Event Ride Out. 3rd July.

To celebrate 175 years in the Cruise business P&O are holding a Grand Nautical Event in Southampton on Tuesday the 3rd of July.

This will be an evening Ride Out and will be lead by our Ride Out Regular, Dave Payne.  Being and Old Sea Dog himself he knows the best vantage point to see this once in a lifetime spectacle.

The whole P&O Cruise Fleet will all be assembled together for the first time ever, in Southampton water before departing for locations around the World.

There will also be an appearance by The Red Arrows. (Hopefully not in the water).

The plan is to meet at The Golden Arches at Coryton Interchange, Junction 32 of the M4 for a 2pm departure.  Travel down through Warminster into the New Forest with a few stops along the way to arrive at Calshot for approximately 6pm.  This will be in time for the Grand Event to cruise by at 7.20pm.  (See the location map above).  For the return journey we will depart approximately 8pm to the M4 via Salisbury Plain, Devizes and Chippenham getting back to Cardiff about 11.30pm.  Dave estimates the mileage to be around 260 miles.

This trip will include some motorway so, sorry, no L plates for this one.

The 1st Class Rider 4 Day Advanced Course. 11th & 12th July.

Just a reminder about the 4 Day Advanced Motorcycle Course which is scheduled to start at 5.45pm on Wednesday the 11th of July.

Its not too late to get on this course.  Its four days but day 3 & 4 are spread apart to allow time for self study and practice and each candidate will get the opportunity to take the RoSPA Advanced Test at the end of the course.  We believe that this is the nearest thing that you will get to a ‘Police Motorcycle Course’.  It is training to the highest standard and in the past we have had a 100% pass rate on the RoSPA Advanced Test.

This will be the only course we are running this year, so don’t miss it.  Get your name on the list now.

July Ride Out.  Sunday 22nd July. Llangurig. Time to be confirmed.

After being weathered off last month we will be taking a run up to the Biker Friendly Moto -BnB at Llangurig.  We stayed at Riks place for the recent 1st Class Rider Wales 8 Tour and everyone was extremely happy with the welcome, location and accommodation. So we are going to pay a visit again for a cuppa in these fantasticly picturesque surroundings.

Rider Improvement Overnight Stay.

On dates to be fixed we will be running a 2 day / 1 night B & B 1st Class Rider Improvement Course.  This is just a taster course and is aimed at riders of all abilities and is a mixture of social riding and tuition and advice, on some of the best roads Wales has to offer.  Staying at the Biker Friendly Moto-BnB at Llangurig this will be an ideal opportunity to experience group riding and get some hints and tips along the way. This is not a formal training course but a more relaxed trip under the guidance of highly qualified instructors.

The cost hasn’t been finalised as yet but for the two days and inclusive of the bed & breakfast will be approximately £150.

Please contact me if you are interested in this.  It is envisaged that a date in August will be set, but this is dependent on the availability of the Moto BnB.

August Ride Out. Saturday 25th August.  Erwood Station Celebration Event. Time to be confirmed.

The Old Railway Station at Erwood will be familiar to anyone who has trained with me or done a Ride Out in the past.  The picturesque location alongside the river (just over the rickety bridge!) is now a quaint tea rooms and quiet craft centre. But on the 25th of August the place will be bustling with ‘rail traffic’ once again as they commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Erwood line being closed down.

There will be memorabilia on display, miniature railway rides and many other activities to mark the occasion.

The Scottish Splendor Tour. 2013.  24th – 27th April.

This trip will be lead by our Scottish Expert, Russ who is a highly skilled rider and had passed the RoSPA Test to the highest level. Also well able to pass on his skills as an Advanced Tutor in the RoSPA Group.  He knows how to ride….. and he knows how to ride in Scotland!

This trip will consist of riding arguably some of the best roads in Europe and undoubtedly the best in the UK. Russ says, “For me the Scottish Highlands is the best all rounder bike trip anyone can wish for.  The mixture and high quality of roads, scenery, view points, cafes and restaurants etc all add up to making this an amazing trip”.

Accommodation has been secured for four nights at Kelso, Skye, Ullapool and Drymen.

The cost of this amazing trip is just £295 per person and included in that price you will get;

2 x nights accommodation = bed, breakfast and 3 course evening meal. (Wednesday & Saturday).

2 x nights accommodation = bed and breakfast. (Thursday & Friday).

1 x Trip Information Pack & Tank Bag Map.

2 x Experienced Tour Guides.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the famous 1st Class ‘foreign’ Tours but with out the need to get your ‘Euros’ first.

The last trip was a sell out so get your name on the list as soon as possible.  To get on the list please email Russ@1stclassrider.co.uk as he is handling all the bookings for this one.

A deposit will be required and this will be explained by a return email.  To get an idea of fuel costs for your bike the trip will cover approximately 1,600 miles.

So hopefully there is something there for each and all of you, so please feel free to join us.  This blog has it all, boats, trains, bikes, seaside, mountains, lakes, Highlands, Islands, haggis and deep fried Mars Bars!

Come on….. you know you want to…….
