It’s that time of year….

How disappointed I was when I saw this sign!

But I wasn’t sad for long because it is that time of year again. Christmas lights up, tree decorated and presents……yet to buy in the last minute rush.

I splashed out on some decorations this year. I bought a twelve foot inflatable Father Christmas. It’s fantastic but the only problem is that now I can’t see my telly.

So now for a traditional review of the rideout year. The places we’ve been, the miles we’ve done and the food we’ve eaten! Well I’ve decided that if you want to know where we’ve been perhaps you should have joined us on a rideout.

Some fantastic roads, countless Sunday lunches, gallons of tea and coffee, (shares up in MacDonald’s), but best of all…..the company. These rideouts wouldn’t be half as much fun without you. I understand that some of you almost made it to Bethlehem under the guidance of Will, just like Rudolph leading Santas Sleigh, through the fog and the ice!

But even with over 2 thousand miles covered, not one….. that’s right, not even one, mishap. No speed camera photo’s, no red traffic lights, no cracked fairings, and not once drawing the attention of the boys in blue.

With bikers taking much criticism in the press these days, (almost as many column inches as ‘Who killed Diana’) then this is an achievement for which you should all be proud.

So my thanks go out to you for that. It is you who make the rideouts worth doing. And not forgetting that we have raised over £400 for the NSPCC. I’m sure that that will be put to good use at this time of year particularly.

For us at 1st Class Rider Training there are exciting times and challenges ahead waiting for us in 2009. Changes to the bike test, advanced training courses in France, and building on the strength of our new Instructors to name just a few.

To all those who passed their tests with us in 2008, Well Done, and we look forward to you joining us on a rideout in the New Year. For those who didn’t pass (yet)……Well you obviously weren’t listening were you!

So to you all, old friends and new I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Peaceful and Safe New Year.

Now could someone come and give me a hand to get this 12 foot Santa out through the door of my lounge please.

Ho, Ho, Ho.
