Here are some up dates.

Bristol Open Day. Sunday.
The open Day scheduled for Bristol Motorrad for Sunday the 22nd of July has been cancelled. Other events will be organised for later in the year and I’ll keep you posted.

Where are they Now?

After the closure of Rydale BMW Bikes in Cardiff here is an up date on some of the staff members who you may have met and had dealings with in the past.

Sales Manager and all round nice bloke, Peter Cramp is now working at Ocean BMW in Plymouth, selling bikes, so a complete change for him then!!

Rydale had a host of highly qualified and experienced Motorcycle Mechanics but I don’t know where any of them have gone, but Mike Pearce has set up on his own at St. Fagan’s Road in Fairwater.

Trading as Cardiff Motorrad he specialises in Repairs and Servicing of BMW’s and he can be contacted on 07843528377

Also Senior BMW Motorcycle Technician, Roger Molland has set up on his own in Gloucester trading as RBM Motorcycles also offering specialist BMW repairs and servicing, and can be contacted on 07982 300611

Ace Sales Executive Craig Nicol (‘ace sales executive’?….. he only had to help you decide what colour you wanted!!) departed just before the closure was announced and is now trading as Sixth Gear Motorcycles, based at Barry Dock Trading Estate he can offer bike sales and finance to buy your dream machine. He can be contacted on 07890543252 ‘I’d like a blue one please’.

Slow Riding and Desperation Braking (Sorry I mean ‘Emergency Braking’)
Saturday the 21st of July.

This will be held at Briardene, Cardiff County Council Road Safety Centre, North Road, Cardiff, CF14 3BL.

It is situated on the City Side of North Road Flyover just before you get to the speed camera (Come on you all know where that is…) (If you don’t know where the speed camera is.. it’s next to the Whinos’ refuge and I know some of you know where that is!)

The day will commence at 9.15am. and will consist of a morning session of Slow Control techniques as taught to us on our Police Motorcycle Courses (only without the broken mirrors and fibre glass we hope!!) And an afternoon session of emergency braking techniques and wet weather braking.

Light refreshments will be provided.

The cost of the day is £50, which can be paid in cash or cheque on the day. Please bring a bike as you will look silly running through the puddles trying to stop and weaving in and out of the cones without one!

There is still space on this course so if anyone wants to do it could you email me direct at
andy@1stclassrider.co.uk or post your confirmation at the end of this up date.

There Is 1 Response So Far. »

  1. HI Andy

I’m sorry but I won’t be able to make the slow speed skills day this weekend.

I hope this doesn’t cause you any problems.

I hope all’s well – hope to be able to do the course soon.

    cheers

    Rich
