Andy Smith - I knew the perils of a biker without food in his belly, so I stopped at the cafe at the Texaco garage (the one where diesel and petrol is the same price??) shortly after turning back.

Andy Jenkins - I haven't found a replacement bolt,as B&Q didn't have that much selection I'll have to go rummaging at the local hardware store for a bolt and a plastic screw as that fell out on the way home, doh! I'm not worried about heated grips, I'm sure my fingers will stop being black soon :)

Tim, to be fair you didn't have heated grips either. I did and my digits were numb, yours must have been rigid!

Did you managed to find a replacement bolt for the one you lost afterwards?

Hi Tim, No problem. There is no shame in turning back because of the snow.....the real shame is in turning back before Sunday lunch!!! You could have starved to death on your way home.

I'll try the run again when the roads aren't quite so crunchy.

Good ride on Sunday...maybe you could post Andy Jenkins photo? Proof (if proof was needed) that you will do anything for a cheap Sunday lunch.

Hi Andy

Sorry I didn't keep on with you troopers yesterday. The snow was clogging to my visor and the condensation on the inside wouldn't evaporate no matter how much I opened it so after a while of steering on blind faith I decided to turn back. Was a cracking ride before that, good bunch of fellas to talk bike with. Happy to do that ride again without the arctic conditions, did you manage to reach Llyn Brianne?

Hey guys, we're famous (or infamous). I just had a look at a forum I'm a member of and someone posted this:

"
Are They Nuts!
I've just seen 12 bikes pass my house in Llandovery, snow on the road and still snowing hard. A few road bikes and a lot of BMW GS's one big gang. Heroes or nuts?
"

Ha, fair weather bikers obviously. There's quite a discussion about us after that.
I just posted and put on a photo I took of the bikes outside the cafe parked on snow. We'll see what's said next.:-)

Is tomorrow (31st Jan) still on? I've just checked the weather and it doesn't look too clever.

Andy,

Don't think I'm going to be able to make Sunday as in the middle of an overseas contract and flying into/out of UK each weekend … so enjoy Mid-Wales!

Interested in a long weekend in March though … will make time for that and sod the work schedule, room for one and a pillion?
